Welcome to Aarhus Municipality Sports Centres
Using the body and feeling the pulse-beat is the absolute focus of the 'Aarhus Kommunes Idrætscentre' (Aarhus Municipality Sports Centres) which include facilities on land, at sea, and on the ice.
The Aarhus Municipality Sports Centres encompass public indoor swimming baths, an indoor ice-skating rink, an outdoor ice rink, a speed-skating rink, sports halls, and public sea-baths. 'Aarhus Kommunes Idrætscentre' is a sub-department of the Department of Sport and Leisure which is a municipal branch of the Department of Culture and Citizens’ Services within the City of Aarhus.
'Aarhus Kommunes Idrætscentre' not only provides the Aarhus citizens with an excellent resource, ensuring that there is clean water for swimming and smooth ice for skating; we also invite everybody to visit the sports centres in Aarhus and enjoy the wonderful facilities – hopefully on a regular basis. With projects like ‘City in movement’ (BabySwimming, Rattle'n'Rhythm, WaterGymnastics and WaterSpinning) as well as a variety of other activities, we hope to provide the facilities with an exciting and attractive programme.
As a user of our sports halls, indoor swimming baths, indoor ice-skating rink, outdoor ice rink, speed-skating rink, or sea-baths, there are great opportunities to get your pulse beating faster and working up a sweat – and equally to get your pulse down and calm your body and mind. Therefore we have added the slogan ‘Increasing the city’s pulse’ to our name.
Our sports centres are located throughout the city of Aarhus. Each venue has its own unique pulse-beat, and therefore we have created our activities in tune with each of these.
